Turkey Tactical: Airlines announce cancellation of January 1 flights due to inclement weather; allot for disruptions, reconfirm travel itineraries

  • Turkish Airlines Communications Director Yahya Ustin stated that the airline had cancelled 50 flights scheduled for January 1 due to inclement weather in eastern Turkey. 
  • In addition, A Jet Press Advisor, Mehmet Yesilkaya, announced that 64 of the airline’s flights on January 1 had been cancelled.  
  • The Turkish Meteorological Service issued a yellow warning for snowfall in several provinces in eastern Turkey on January 1.
