• Members of the opposition Kuomintang (KMT) party are slated to hold a rally in front of the City Hall in Taipei at 15:00-17:30 (local time) on July 5. 
• The protesters will denounce the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) over the alleged abuse of state machinery and the perceived deliberate targeting of KMT lawmakers across the country as 24 legislators from the party face recall elections slated on July 26.  

1. The participation at the slated rally is likely to range in the high hundreds to low thousands, based on the social media traction garnered by the event. An elevated attendance is expected considering the confirmed participation of prominent KMT leaders at the rally. As a matter of protocol, the authorities are liable to bolster the security measures in the vicinity of the aforementioned location. This is also considering the sensitive nature of the location. These measures are likely to include barricade installation and increased police deployment.  
2. The risk of scuffles between the police and the protesters persists considering the anti-government nature of the gathering. The authorities will likely employ forcible dispersal measures such as temporary detentions of protesters or forced removal from the protest site should the demonstrators resort to perceived unruly behavior like breaching major roads. Travel disruptions in the vicinity of the City Hall area are anticipated due to the expected turnout and associated security measures during the slated protest hours on July 5.
