MENA Tactical: Pro-Palestinian protests slated to take place across MENA from March 26-30; maintain heightened vigilance
Current Situation:
- Pro-Palestinian activists have organized protests in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Turkey from March 26-28.
- In Egypt, the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement has planned a symbolic protest outside the Journalists Syndicate building in Cairo’s Abd el-Khalek Tharwat Street on March 26 at 17:30 (local time).
- In Jordan, the “Islamic Action Front in Jordan” will hold a demonstration on March 28 outside Amman’s Grand Husseini Mosque after Friday prayers. Friday afternoon prayers will reportedly take place at around 12:41 in Amman on March 28.
- In Morocco, the “Moroccan Front for Support of Palestine and Against Normalization” has called for a protest march on March 28, starting from Rabat’s Place el-Barid on Mohammed V Street at 21:30. The endpoint of the protest march is not specified.
- The same group has also called for “popular mobilization” in all Moroccan city squares from March 28-30. These will likely materialize in major cities, including Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech.
- In Turkey, the BDS movement has called for a protest on March 28 at 18:30 in front of Istanbul’s Sultanahmet Obelisk (also known as the Obelisk of Theodosius). The protest is being held to call on Turkey to sever ties with Israel.
