MENA Alert: UKMTO reports attack against vessel southeast of Aden on September 29; avoid all travel to area

- The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has received reports of an attack against a vessel, 128 nautical miles southeast of Yemen’s Aden during afternoon hours (UTC) of September 29.
- The Master had reported witnessing a splash and smoke in the distance, astern (towards the back or rear) of the vessel.
- Unspecified military authorities have reported that a vessel was hit by an unknown projectile and that the vessel is on fire.
- Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
- The UKMTO urges vessels to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to the organization.
