Israel Tactical: US suspends removal of USAF refueling tankers from Ben Gurion Airport per July 14 reports; Allot for disruptions, confirm travel itineraries

Current Situation:

  • The US reportedly suspended the evacuation of US Air Force (USAF) refueling tankers from the Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV), reversing a previous plan and leaving commercial airlines with reduced operational capacity. This comes in the context of the escalatory dynamic between the US and Iran.
  • On July 14, the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) informed the Ministry of Transportation that this would result in a parking shortage for passenger planes starting July 23, disrupting peak traffic associated with the summer period.
  • To manage the operational constraints, the IAA will reportedly be forced to cancel approximately ten flights per day, putting an estimated 50,000 flight tickets at risk of cancellation by the end of July.
