Israel Tactical (UPDATE): Additional anti-government protests slated in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem during evening hours of March 8; maintain heightened vigilance
Current Situation:
- Additional anti-government protests have been called in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem during the evening hours of March 8.
- These protests have been called to pressure the government into securing the release of the remaining hostages held in Gaza and to denounce recent government policies.
Tel Aviv
- The activist group “Mishmeret 101” has stated that its activists will be conducting a demonstration at the Begin Gate, in front of Tel Aviv’s Kirya, at 20:00 (local time). This will take place at the same time as the protest called by the “Hostages and Missing Families Forum” at the Hostages Square.
- Two protest marches have also been called starting from Huberman Street, near Habima Square, to the Begin Gate, at 18:45.
- The first march, titled “March for Democracy,” aims to express concerns regarding the investigative process surrounding alleged links between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Office and Qatar. The second march is being held in opposition to the proposed allocation of funds in the upcoming budget, which is set to be voted on by the government in the coming days.
- Both marches are expected to converge and merge into the aforementioned demonstration at the Begin Gate at 20:00.
Jerusalem
- A protest march to demand the release of hostages in Gaza is slated from Zion Square to Paris Square, starting at 19:15, followed by a demonstration at Paris Square at 20:00.
