Israel Tactical: Authorities announce closure of Jerusalem’s Shazar tunnel, additional lanes, for road works from November 16-27; allot for disruptions

Current Situation:

  • The Jerusalem Municipality has announced that construction will take place to complete traffic arrangements in the Shazar tunnel between the hours of 23:00 to 05:00 (local time) from November 16 to 27.  
  • To facilitate construction, from November 16 to 20, the tunnel lane towards the exit of the city will be closed to traffic.  
  • Between November 23 to 27, a traffic lane leading towards Ben Zvi Boulevard and Agripas Street will be closed to traffic.  
  • A detour for private vehicles will be established from the intersection of Hakhil Hamishpat towards Sderot HaNassi Hashishi, crossing Begin Boulevard towards Sderot Herzl.  
  • The municipality recommended drivers travel on alternate routes to avoid disruptions due to construction.

Those operating or residing in Jerusalem are advised to be cognizant of the road closures and allot for traffic disruptions around the Shazar tunnel due to the road works.
