Iran Tactical: Authorities issue orange warning for atmospheric pollution across Tehran province from January 6-8; remain cognizant of authorities’ updates
Current Situation:
- According to Iran’s state-affiliated news agency, an orange warning has been issued across Tehran province due to the continued accumulation of atmospheric pollutants. The warning will remain in place until January 8.
- Central and southern parts of the province are expected to experience temperature inversion and atmospheric stagnation, leading to higher concentrations of pollutants and reduced visibility.
- Authorities in Tehran have advised all residents to avoid unnecessary travel during peak hours, refrain from strenuous physical or sports activities, and wear health masks when travel is essential.
- The state-affiliated news agency announced that all kindergartens and preschools in Tehran province, except those in Firouz Kouh, Robat Karim, Pardis, and Damavand districts, will operate remotely on January 6 and 7. Internal exams across the province, excluding these districts, have also been canceled for the same dates.
- Moreover, all heavy vehicles, except those carrying fuel, medicines, and food, are banned in Tehran. Traffic restrictions for private vehicles will apply from 06:30 (local time) to 20:30 until January 8.
