• Multiple protests are slated across Delhi on August 23. 
• Members of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) announced a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on August 23. The exact timing of the demonstration remains unannounced at the time of writing.   
• The protesters will denounce the alleged mistreatment of Hindi-speaking migrants in Maharashtra State.  
• Separately, members of the India March for Science – Delhi Organizing Committee are slated to hold a protest march from Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station Gate 4 to the Arts Faculty located on the North Campus of Delhi University (DU) from 11:00 (local time) onwards on the day.
• The demonstrators will call for 10 percent of the union budget for education and demand that the government enact a nationwide Anti-Black Magic Act.

The participation at the slated gatherings at both locations is likely to reach the mid dozens, based on the limited resonance of the aforementioned issues, coupled with the traction garnered by the events on social media. The authorities are liable to bolster the security measures in the vicinity of the aforementioned locations, in line with standard security measures. These measures are likely to include the placement of barricades and the deployment of police personnel to monitor proceedings.  
2. The risk of localized scuffles between the police and the protesters remains should the latter engage in disruptive behavior such as blocking major roads or breaching barricades. The police are likely to use measures such as temporary detention of protesters and forced removal. However, the likelihood of the authorities resorting to a heavy-handed response is low given the limited resonance of the issues. Regardless, localized travel disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the aforementioned locations on August 23 due to the anticipated turnout and associated security measures.
