• The Muslim United Federation will hold a protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 at Dharna Chowk in Indira Park of Hyderabad from 11:00-17:00 (local time) on February 9. 
• The protest, led by Maulana Hakeem Sufi Syed Shah Mohammed Khairuddin Quadri, has reportedly received official permission from the Deputy Commissioner of Police of Central Zone in Hyderabad. 

1. The protest is expected to witness significant turnout, likely ranging between the low-to-mid hundreds, due to the sensitivity surrounding the Waqf Amendment Bill and the Muslim United Federation’s mobilization efforts. Given the location’s history as a key protest site, the authorities are expected to bolster security measures by deploying additional police personnel and setting up barricades to manage crowds. 
2. There remains a risk of localized clashes between the protesters and the police, should the former resort to breaching security measures and blocking major thoroughfares. In such scenarios, the police are anticipated to employ forcible dispersal measures such as temporary detentions of the protesters. However, a stringent police response remains unlikely given the sensitivity of the issue. Localized travel disruptions in the vicinity of Dharna Chowk are expected during the protest hours due to the associated security measures on February 9.
