India Tactical: Multiple traffic advisories issued for Republic Day events in Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata until January 26; allot for disruptions
Current Situation:
- In Bangalore, a traffic advisory is in effect due to the ongoing Republic Day Flower Show at Lalbagh until January 26.
- Per the advisory, traffic restrictions are in place for vehicles heading from Dairy Circle towards Lalbagh at Dr. Marigowda Road and 10th Cross Road.
- The authorities advised commuters to use alternate routes for vehicles coming from Dairy Circle by taking a right turn at the 10th Cross Junction to access City Market, Majestic, Wilson Garden Main Road, and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Road through Bangalore Transport Service (BTS) Road.
- Similar vehicular restrictions are in place on Urvashi Junction and Lalbagh Road. Commuters heading from Subbaiah Circle, City Market, Lalbagh, Jayanagar, Electronic City, and Hosur are advised to proceed straight and turn left at Urvashi junction and head towards Dr.Marigowda Road through Siddaiah Road.

- The Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for the Republic Day Parade rehearsals on Kartavya Path in Delhi between 10:15-12:30 (local time) on January 17, 18, 20, and 21.
- Traffic restrictions are imposed on Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg crossing, Janpath crossing, Maan Singh Road crossing, and C-Hexagon on Kartavya Path.
- The authorities advised commuters coming from north Delhi to south Delhi and vice versa to take Aurobindo Marg, Indraprastha Flyover, Kautilaya Marg, and Mathura Road.
- Vehicular traffic from east to west Delhi and vice versa is advised to take Rajesh Pilot Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Mall Road, Lodhi Road, and Park Street.
All vehicular traffic from south Delhi to Central Secretariat and Connaught Place is advised to take Vande Matram Marg, Panchkula Road, and North Avenue. - Vehicular traffic from east to southwest Delhi is advised to take Vande Matram Marg. Commuters from Vinay Marg and Shanti Path towards Delhi are advised to take Sardar Patel Marg and Baba Kharak Singh Marg.

- In Kolkata, a traffic advisory remains in effect due to the ongoing Republic Day rehearsals at Kolkata Maidan from 04:00-09:00 until January 22.
- Per the advisory, vehicular traffic on Casuarina Avenue, Hospital Road East and West, Hospital Road, Kingsway, Khidderpore Road, Lovers Lane, Plassey Gate Road, Red Road, Rani Rashmoni (RR) Avenue, and Queensway will remain closed until January 22.
- Goods vehicles remain prohibited on St. Georges Gate Road, Strand Road, and roads leading to Kolkata Maidan during the rehearsals.
- Vehicular traffic heading towards Binoy-Badal-Dinesh Bagh (BBD) from Alipore and Belvedere Roads will be diverted via Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose (AJC) Road, St. Georges Gate Road, Strand Road, Kingsway/Auckland Road, and Government Place (West).
- Vehicular traffic heading towards Binoy-Badal-Dinesh Bagh (BBD) from Harish Mukherjee Road will be diverted via Cathedral Road, Jawahar Lal (J.L.) Nehru Road, and Mayo Road. Southbound vehicles on Red Road (Howrah side) will be diverted through Esplanade Row (East), Rani Rashmoni (RR) Avenue, J.L. Nehru Road, Mayo Road, Dufferin Road, Outram Road, Kingsway, and Strand Road.
