Qatar Tactical: Road closures slated in Doha between 8:30-19:30 on September 15 due to Arab-Islamic summit; allot for disruptions

Current Situation:

  • The Qatari Ministry of Interior announced the temporary closure of some roads on September 15 between 8:30 – 19:30 (local time) in Doha to coincide with Qatar’s hosting of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit.  
  • Affected roads include: 
  • From Hamad International Airport Street exit on Ras Bus Abboud Road to the al-Sharq Intersection.  
  • From Airport Park Street exit on C-Ring Road to al-Sharq Intersection. 
  • From Corniche Road, starting at the al-Sharq intersection to the Dafna intersection.  
  • A map depicting the open and closed roads in the area can be found here. 

Recommendations:

  1. Those operating or residing in Doha on September 15 are advised to allot for disruptions to traffic and seek alternative routes due to the slated road closures. 
  2. Remain cognizant of the potential for additional road closures and traffic blockades in the city due to the summit.
