• The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it had conducted strikes on energy infrastructure allegedly linked to the Houthis in Yemen’s Sanaa during the morning hours (local time) on August 17. 
• The IDF stated that the strikes come as a response to repeated attacks against Israel by the Iran-backed Houthis. 
• Israel’s public broadcaster stated that the Israeli Navy launched the attacks. 
• Further reports indicate that the strikes targeted the Hezyaz Power Station, located 13km southeast of Sanaa. 
• Houthi-linked reports indicated that power outages were recorded in the capital following the strikes. 

Yemen 

1. Those operating or residing in Sanaa on August 17 are advised to avoid all travel to the vicinity of the Hezyaz Power Station due to the reported strikes.   
2. Anticipate prolonged power outages in the Sanaa region in the coming days in light of the damage to power infrastructure, and take necessary precautions.  
3. Avoid the vicinity of any government, military, or strategic civilian infrastructure in Houthi-held territories over the coming hours and days due to the potential for additional strikes against such facilities. This includes power plants, maritime ports, and airports.  
4. Continue to monitor regional events related to the Israel-Hamas conflict, given their corresponding link to the Houthi campaign at sea.

1. Those managing or operating vessels in and near the Red Sea are advised to take necessary precautions in light of the reported strikes.
