Israel Tactical (UPDATE): Activists announce planned events for nationwide strike on August 17; allot for disruptions to business continuity, travel
Current Situation:
- Anti-government activists reportedly announced planned protest actions that will take place during the general strike on August 17.
- Multiple municipalities, hi-tech firms, and universities have reportedly confirmed their participation in the strike.

- Anti-government groups are planning to gather in front of the residences of Members of Knesset belonging to the ruling Likud-led coalition throughout the day.

Hostages Square
- Multiple events are slated throughout the day at Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square (outside the Tel Aviv Museum of Art)
- Activists will gather at 06:29 to mark the exact time Hamas launched its attacks on October 7, 2023.
- Hostages’ families will hold a press conference at 07:00, and at every hour between 09:00 and 18:00 they will speak about the captives on stage.
- At 09:00, health workers will march from Ramat Gan’s Jabotinsky Road to the square. They are slated to arrive at 11:00.
- Activists will march from Tel Aviv’s Savidor Railway Station toward the square at 19:00 ahead of the main rally, which will be held at 20:00.

- Protesters will demonstrate at the intersection of Rokach Boulevard and Route 2 between 08:30-10:30.
- A gathering will take place in front of the City Hall at Rabin Square at 09:00.
- A demonstration will be held at the intersection between Kaplan Street and Route 2 between 12:00 and 14:00.
Jerusalem
- Protest actions are slated at the following key locations in the capital:
- At 07:15 outside the President’s House (Beit HaNassi).
- At 07:30 at Jerusalem’s Central Railway Station Plaza.
