India Tactical: Traffic advisories issued for cultural, sporting event in Pune on February 15-16; allot for disruptions
Current Situation:
- The Pune Traffic Police issued traffic advisories for a cultural and sporting events on February 15-16.
- The cultural event is slated to be held at Police Headquarters in the Shivajinagar area, and several dignitaries are anticipated to participate.
- For the cultural event, road closures are announced for vehicular traffic coming from Shimla Chowk towards Veer Chaphekar Chowk via Hardikar Petrol Pump from 16:00 (local time) on February 15 to 00:01 on February 16.
- Commuters coming from Shimla Chowk are advised to take an alternate route using the road in front of Pride Hotel, Veer Chaphekar Over Bridge, and Suryamukhi Chowk.
- Similar restrictions will be in place for vehicular traffic on Vasantrao Deshmukh Path for Ghole Road-bound traffic. No entry will be permitted for traffic coming from Jangli Maharaj (JM) Road towards Surabhi Lane.
- Vehicles will be diverted to use the route via Modern Chowk to Jhansi Rani Statue Chowk and Ghole Road.
- On February 16, the sporting event will start from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Complex and cover Aundh Baner Link Road, Balewadi High Street, Bhale Chowk, Bremen Chowk, Ganesh Dutt Mandir Chowk, Jupiter Hospital Chowk, Laxmi Mata Mandir Chowk, Mamta Chowk, Medipoint Chowk, Nagras Road, Parihar Chowk, Radha Chowk, Raj Bhavan, Saikar Chowk, and West End Mall Road, before returning to the Sports Complex.
- From 04:00-10:00, vehicular traffic will remain restricted on roads from Radha Chowk to Saikar Chowk.
- From 04:00-09:00, the road stretching from Mamta Chowk to Saikar Chowk will be closed for vehicular traffic in both directions.
- A section of Ganeshkhind Road stretching from Raj Bhavan to Rishi Malhotra Chowk will remain closed to vehicular traffic on the day.
- No parking or halting during the sporting event from 04:00 to 10:00 will be allowed on the day.
