• Multiple animal rights-related protests are slated in Sydney on October 16-17.
• Activists associated with Animal Liberation and Vegan Action Sydney are slated to hold a protest at Wentworth Park at 17:00 (local time) on October 16. The protest will be held to demand an end to the commercial greyhound industry.
• Additionally, multiple groups including Animal Justice Party NSW and World Animal Protection Australia are slated to hold a protest against the Everest, a yearly horse race, at the Randwick Racecourse from 11:30-13:30 on October 17.
• The Animal Justice Party NSW and Vegan Action Sydney will hold a protest at Pitt Street Mall in Sydney from 14:30-16:00 on October 17, against the use of animals in experiments and to demand an end to vivisection.

Participation at the protests can be expected to range between the low-to-mid dozens, given the low resonance of the issues and precedent of previous similar protests. Anticipating this, the authorities are likely to bolster security measures in the vicinity of the aforementioned locations. These measures are likely to include the deployment of police personnel and the setting up of barricades to manage the proceedings. The protests are expected to transpire peacefully, based on precedent. Localized disruptions to pedestrian and vehicular traffic are anticipated in the vicinity of the aforementioned locations during the protest hours on October 16-17.

Those operating or residing in Sydney on October 16-17 are advised to allot for travel disruptions in the vicinity of the aforementioned locations due to the slated protests.
