India Tactical: Multiple traffic advisories issued in Delhi until 18:00 (local time) on January 27; allot for disruptions

Current Situation:

  • A traffic advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police (DTP) remains in effect in connection with an official function at Mahatma Gandhi Smriti Sthal in Raj Ghat until 12:30 (local time) on January 27. 
  • Per the advisory, traffic movement will be restricted in and around Rajghat and adjoining areas, and at Delhi Gate, Guru Nanak Chowk, Income Tax Office (ITO) Chowk, Rajghat Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) Depot, Shantivan Chowk, and the Indraprastha Flyover, as and when required, on January 27.
  • Additional affected routes include Income Tax Office Chowk to Delhi Gate on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Shantivan Chowk to IP Flyover, Asaf Ali Road from Delhi Gate to Netaji Subhash Marg, Shantivan Chowk to Nishad Raj Marg, Guru Nanak Chowk to Ranjit Singh Flyover, and Rajghat Delhi Transport Corporation Depot to Ring Road Bypass.

  • Separately, the DTP issued another traffic advisory for the Beating Retreat Ceremony at Vijay Chowk from 16:00 to 18:00 on January 27. 
  • Vehicular traffic will be restricted at Vijay Chowk, Raisina Road, from the roundabout near Krishi Bhawan towards Vijay Chowk, traffic beyond the roundabouts at Dara Shikoh Road, Krishna Menon Marg and Sunehri Masjid towards Vijay Chowk, Kartavya Path between Vijay Chowk and Rafi Marg – Kartavya Path Crossing on the day. 
  • Commuters have been advised to use alternate routes such as Aurobindo Marg, Minto Road, Rani Jhansi Road, Ring Road, Ridge Road, and Safdarjung Road through Kamal Ataturk Marg to avoid the affected routes.
